Our Story...

We started dreaming of Oatis & Honey many years ago, since then we have been researching like crazy to ensure we have high quality products, that fit perfectly and are well suited to our Australian climate. We all know how expensive horse ownership can be so our aim is to provide superior quality products, without breaking the budget!

Our business name, Oatis & Honey, is a tribute to the first two horses I owned growing up. I fell in love with horses from a young age. Oatis came along first. He was a 14hh black and white Pinto. I fell in love with horses from a young age...

Horse Rug Fitting & Delivery Services available

On-site horse rug fittings are something we feel the horse world is currently missing out on. We absolutely love meeting our horse and human customers so we decided to fill this gap by offering our mobile services throughout South East Queensland. We hit the road regularly, offering the best possible service to our South East Queensland horse communities.

We currently operate our mobile services in the following locations: Toowoomba, Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding areas. We will soon be offering our Mobile Fittings Services to the Nambucca Valley, the true home of the real Oatis & Honey. If you would like us to pop out and visit you at your place, agistment centre or training facility, please reach out to find out when we will be in your area next.

We do charge a small travel and fuel fee of $5 added to each rug purchased while on the road. This covers the fitting fee and home delivery fee and also helps us with the cost of fuel and travel expenses while on the road. Please Note: All horses being fitted with our rugs must be clean and dry before we place the rugs on your horse. All horses having a rug fitting will need to complete a rug fitting form prior to the booking so we can ensure we have the right size for your horse. We have barrier protection that we use to ensure the rugs are not soiled or damaged while completing out mobile fittings.

From the very beginning of this business we both knew we would be doing our bit for horse rescue here in Australia. Save A Horse Australia have saved many horses across the years and continue to care and rehabilitate horses who just need that one chance, the chance to feel love again.

SAHA have rescued thousands of horses from abuse, slaughter and neglect throughout the years. In July 2021 Laura Cheshire was appointed as the President of the SAHA Charity. Laura had previously been volunteering with SAHA for over 7 years and I have been very lucky to witness her magic touch with horses and all animals around her. I know that horse rescue is something Laura is born to do. Starting her horse racing career at the age of 16 and already having years of horse riding under her belt, Laura's connection with horses is undeniable. I am personally so proud to call Laura Cheshire one of my closest friends. I've seen with my own eyes, the efforts and lengths she has gone to ensure the safety and welfare of all animals, not just horses. She is a true inspiration and so in turn, we at Oatis & Honey will do our part to support Save A Horse Australia as much as we can. Our customers can also share in the love of horse rescue by buying a rug for a rescue horse or donating to their charity directly via their website .

Amanda Vella's Bella Vita Equine Rescue

At Bella Vita, the horses are provided with first class care and when ready, they will be adopted out under a lifetime adoption contract. Amanda Vella is an industry leader in horse rescue and rehabilitation. She has self funded Bella Vita Equine Rescue & Horse Sanctuary from the ground up. Amanda is a super human and has had horse rescue running through her veins from a young age.

Over the years Amanda Vella has rescued thousands of horses who would have thought they were 'given up on' by humans but thankfully Amanda was able to save many horses lives over the years and show them how life should really be, safe from harm and with love in their hearts. Amanda places horses and their care in front of her own. In turn, she has created, from the ground up, two of Australia's most successful equine rescue and welfare organisations. Amanda Vella is an inspiration to the horse rescue industry and continues to provide exceptional knowledge, experience and passion to the whole horse rescue world.
